This is the age of the cupcake! Gourmet cupcakes are everywhere. And for good reason. Nothing’s more satisfying and mood enhancing than that simple little self contained bundle of perfection that is the cupcake. At once retro and modern. These days nothing beats the cupcake when it comes to a festive treat. The only downside: It can be a real pain to provide cupcake bliss for a loved one. My friend Julie is expecting any day now. Her nieces and sisters-in-law gave her an absolutely lovely shower a few weeks ago. They thought of everything. Decorations, place cards, elegant party favors, beautifully decorated cookies and petit fours. The table looked like something from Martha Stewart Living. It was unbelievable.
We all gushed about how perfect everything turned out. When I asked one of the hostesses how she managed to pull off such a perfect baby shower – she laughed and said it was nothing.
