I was at Starbucks 
today. Well, technically I was also there yesterday. And most likely the day before. That’s what happens when I’m on the road. But feeding my daily habit is not the point of the story. The point of the story is that I found something pretty cool at x today while I was waiting for my venti iced blended red-eye.
The Bodum 3-pc. Chambord Coffee Press Gift Set

I was lucky enough to receive some Caribou Coffee
as a hostess gift and I’ve been sampling these divine brews over the last few days. Wow. This is some seriously great coffee.
So far my favorites are the Kenya AA, the La Minita Peaberry and the Roastmaster’s Reserve Brazil Poco Fundo – and I’ve still got a few more left to sample. We used to have Caribou cafes here in Chicago, but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen one. I had forgotten how much I love this coffee.

I recently referred a friend to a contractor who had done some work in my house several times over the years. When you need a serious pick me up, nothing beats the bold jolt of a shot of espresso (or four). I’m a big fan of latte with two extra shots – also known as the ‘double red eye’. A dear friend of mine swears by his daily regime of three quad espressos. And there’s always the oh-so-civilised espresso and a small square of dark chocolate in the mid-afternoon or at the end of a fabulous meal. Espresso is everywhere these days – as it should be.
I drink espresso when I’m out, of course. But for nearly 20 years now, I’ve been an espresso at home girl, too. I just can’t fathom running out anytime I want a wonderful shot of serious brew. Espresso is my way of life. Unless I’m having guests or just in a particular mood, I rarely brew a pot of automatic drip coffee. It’s pretty much all espresso all the time at my house.
