We all do the same thing. We get a new camera, take about a zillion photos and then we don’t do anything with the pictures. Even if you are selective, the few you do choose to print can pile up pretty quickly. And the photos that are sent by friends and family make that pile even bigger. Well, now’s your chance to clear up that clutter once and for all – and save a bundle at the same time.

It’s time for the Exposures Annual May Sale. Save up to 60% off!
. Save up to 60% on frames, albums, photo storage and much more. These are the lowest prices they offer all season, so stock up now and clear up that photo clutter.

Last night a lovely crowd of us gathered over at Paula’s for a fabulous holiday feast. Lori, always creative with gifts and a super savvy shoppier in her own right, present Paula with one of the nicest hostess gifts I’ve ever seen. It was a terrific photo of Paula and the Professor. It was taken at a party Lori hosted not too long ago. And she put in in an absolutely beautiful frame. What a great gift idea, right? Paula was thrilled. And I was quite impressed. I’m always on the lookout for clever, inexpensive yet perfect gifts for every occasion. And the framed photo is all of that and more. It’s personal. Loved it!

Offer valid until 10.03.07. Shop Now!
Why not take a clue from Lori? Stock up and a few nice frames, keep track of the good photographs you have and gift them to your friends and family. Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m pretty sure Beck has done the same for me on occasion. And Lynne too. Where have I been? Does everbody know about this but me?

You may have seen it on Oprah’s “O” list or in Real Simple Magazine. The [ together ] book
is a revolutionary patent-pending process to bind your digital photos (via upload) or your already printed photographs (via mail) into a beautiful, high quality hardcover book. This is not just another photo book! These are books of your actual photographs.
The process is simple! For binding the photos you have stashed away in shoe boxes or still in the photo lab envelope, simply gather your stacks of twenty five to one hundred photos. Visit the [ together ] book
web site, select the color of your book, create any optional stamping for the outside of the book (Pets, Hawaii Vacation, etc.) Drop your photo stacks in the mail to the address provided, and – as simple as that – you will receive your book in about a week. For digital upload customers the process is even easier! Simply go to the [ together ] book
website and upload your photos in the order you want them bound. Pick the book options and photo size option and they do the rest.

I love this idea. Photo bracelets like this one from Lillian Vernon are great gifts for moms, grandmothers and aunts - for Mother’s Day or any other special occasion. They’re also great fun for the tween and early teen set. The bracelet is made of six small linked frames. You add the photos and it becomes a wearable scrapbook.

A photo bracelet makes a fun and anything but ordinary baby shower gift. What a great way for a new mom to keep the little ones at close hand!

Frames and photo albums are a terrific gift, especially for people who can often be difficult to buy for. Red Envelope has a terrific selection. They’ve got frame/album combos, wooden frames, leather frames, silver plate frames and much, much more. Check out their brushed nickel family tree frame set – it’s a beautiful tabletop tree that comes with 13 small frames to hang from the branches. Very unique and at $75 an excellent value. I also like the gallery frame collections. Beautiful wooden frames (with removable mats) hang together from brass bars in an interesting elegant pattern. Prices range from $78 to $98, depending on the size of the set.

Paula and Sherry have been making photo books for their out of town grandsons, writing stories about their visits and all the things they love to do together. The kids love the books as part of their bedtime library. Better yet, the books will be treasured memories in the future, and much more fun than the typical family photo albumn. They’ve each made a couple of books by now and used different approaches with each. Sherry tends to go for the traditional scrapbook approach, buying a blank book and placing the printed photos, text and embellishments on the pages by hand. Paula’s gone electronic – laying out digital photos, texts and graphics on the pages one at a time and then binding them into a book. Both approaches yield terrific results; in my mind the main difference is whether or not you want the ability to make more than one copy of the exact same book. If you want more than one, then digital is definitely the way to go.
Either way, I’ve tracked down an amazing website all about scrapbooking that’s chock full of resources and ideas for both traditional and digital scrapbooking. If you’re a scrapbooker of either ilk, next time you’re surfing check out A Cherry on Top. They’ve got thousands and thousands of products and an enormous gallery to provide inspiration. It’s a complete online community and definitely worth a stop.
