A wonderful thank you gift for a client has always been tough to find for under $30. The problem is that these days it’s frequently just not appropriate or possible to spend much more than that. $30 just doesn’t usually buy that much. And a $30 gift basket usually just doesn’t make much of an impression and usually looks kind of junky. We’ve found a GREAT exception to this rule.

Medium Drizzle Strawberries Gift box
From: CCB Radiance LLC
This delectable assortment of 6 hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries and 6 hand dipped freshly baked Madeline cookies is available at CCB Radiance LLC for only $29.99.
A great deal, isn’t it? That’s quite a lot of ‘wow’ and ‘yum’ for only $30. And quite a luxe vibe, too.
You’ll find their gift baskets are just as impressive at higher price points as well, with lots of options for bountiful gift packages of dozen hand dipped treats or more for well under $75.

1 Dz Chocolate Covered Pears – $ 69.99
From: CCB Radiance LLC
CCB Radiance LLC offers the ultimate in hand dipped and customized chocolate covered chocolate. Using only the finest gourmet chocolate and highest quality food colorings to create their custom edible ink messages.

Customized messages and images are readily available. Your strawberries are dipped and decorated to order and shipped fresh and fast nationwide.

I’m here in the heart of apple country – Oregon. I attended a harvest market last week and tomorrow I plan on going again. They’re famous for a lot more than the apples here, of course, but it was the apples that really rocked my world.
There must have been at least 30 varieties of local apples from which to choose. Loads of ’boutique’ varieties from local growers. And lots of free samples! The tasting almost made it harder to choose, but since I knew I’d be able to go back again, I felt a little less pressure. My current favorite is the Hidden Rose – a small apple with light green skin, pink fruit and a sweet yet tangy taste. Like a Grannie Smith with honey. YUM! And it didn’t stop at apples. That was just the beginning! There were pears galore. Local wines. Smoked salmon. And lots more.

Hood River’s Choice Deluxe Fruit and Gourmet Gift Box
And guess who was there – at the local Columbia Gorge / Hood River farmer’s Harvest Market - along with all the local growers? TheFruitCompany.com
– they’re the ones who bring the freshest and best of Oregon to those of us who aren’t lucky enough to live here to taste it all in person!

Thought you’d want to know.

The best treat of the season? No I’m not talking about the mini Snicker’s Bars that we all pretend to buy for the thousands of trick or treaters we’re expecting and then eat all by ourselves.

I’m talking about the ultimate caramel apple.
From Mrs. Prindables Gourmet Caramel Apples.
YUM!

There’s still plenty of time for gardening this season.

And color and drama to your home landscape with gorgeous caladiums.

From Fancy Plants Farms.

Where they also have some of the most beautiful fresh fruit and Florida citrus on the planet. By the way – caladiums are an excellent choice for container gardening and indoor planting as well.

As far as I’m concerned, the best thing about summer is the fruit. Fresh and wonderful and totally in-season. Peaches. Nectarines. And my personal favorite – CHERRIES! YUM!

The season is shockingly short for many summer fruits, especially cherries. Take advantage now of the chance to eat orchard fresh fruits from the Hood River Valley of Oregon. Nothing like what you’d find at your local supermarket or even Whole Foods.

And don’t miss the wonderful yellow-fleshed Mount Ranier cherries – available for only a few short weeks every summer. Beyond delicious!

There’s just something about a caramel apple. Depending on where you live you might call it a taffy apple or a candy apple. There might be disagreement about the name – but there’s no disagreement about the taste. And if you’re looking for the ultimate interpretation of that classic treat, look no further than Mrs. Prindables Gourmet Caramel Apples.

YUM!

While the winter cold may make it off-season for many of our favorite things, there is one thing that is definitely in-season right now. And totally worth enjoying while it’s here.

You can literally taste the sunshine.

This time of year it’s more important than ever to eat enough fruit. We’re already operating at a disadvantage with the shorter and darker days. And then there’s the winter tendency toward comfort food. Not to mention that holiday eating. All these factors can easily combine into weight gain, lack of energy and depression.

The best way to beat those winter blues is to stay active and watch your nutrition. One of the easiest ways to improve your nutrition – and your outlook – this time of year is to eat more fruit. It’s like feeding yourself some sunshine.

The days are getting shorter and shorter. We had a one week reprieve, but this weekend we turn the clocks back and lose even more of the afternoon. The short days can have a profound impact on mood and energy.
That’s why it’s especially important to pay particularly close attention to nutrition this time year.

It’s easy to inadvertently find yourself eating fewer fresh fruits and veggies without the bounty of summer produce. It’s also easy to find yourself eating more prepared foods, snacks and refined sugars. And the next thing you know you’ve got even less energy. You skip a few visits to the gym and BOOM! You are in a full blown winter slump! Been there! Done that! Skip it this year – give yourself a boost. Make an effort to eat just a teeny bit better (because every little bit helps). Stick with your exercise routine and consider kicking it up a notch. Go out of your way to eat fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. And don’t forget to take your vitamins!
It can only help, right? A little more energy goes a long way!

It’s one of my favorite tastes of fall. There’s nothing like a persimmon.
I like them for baking, cooking and just for eating. Seasonal persimmons like these from Fancy Plants Farms are completely different than the Asian persimmons available all year long. The taste is fuller and the texture is almost creamy.

The best oranges in the world come from the Indian River area in Florida. I used to live down there and I still miss that bright taste of sunshine. And it’s not just the oranges, either. Grapefruits. Tomatoes.
They grow, pick, pack and ship fresh Florida produce all year long at Fancy Plants Farms. Check it out. It will be as if you’re tasting an orange for the very first time.

And then they’re gone. I’m talking cherries, of course. Fresh, ripe, beautiful cherries. Cherry season has officially begun and lasts only through the end of July. There’s nothing like fresh cherries in season. The taste that screams SUMMER IS HERE! The best cherries can’t be found in your local supermarket; for the ultimate cherries shop directly from the orchard. Yum!
In honor of cherry season, The Fruit Company is offering free two day shipping on all cherry orders.

Fresh and fabulous. Big and beautiful. And unlike anything you’ll find in a supermarket. Orchard fresh fruits make an excellent gift for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and many other special occasions.

Fruit is a terrific business or housewarming gift and is a perfect choice for less joyous events as well. Fresh fruit is an excellent way to show someone you’re thinking of them after they’ve suffered a loss or if they are recovering from an injury or illness.
