After a hiatus of what I think is more than 10 years, Sara is FINALLY bringing back her chili party. Woo Hoo! The infamous annual fete is a combination of a gourmet chili feast (as Sara is, among other things, a top notch chef) and a chile pepper themed drunken melee, with crazy themed decor, prize raffles and more. I had heard rumblings that she was resurrecting the tradition. The minute the invitation arrived I had a brainstorm. I’m going to send her a chile pepper pinata for the party. How perfect is that! Oh my god – this is so fun and so cool I can’t even believe it. Puma is now offering completely customizable sneakers ($130). The shoes are fab, of course, but that’s not the biggest news. The biggest news is the oh so fun interactive “Puma Mongolian Shoe Barbecue” where you create your own shoes – just like the perfect meal. First you choose your gender and size. Then you move on to the buffet and choose your materials for 20 different components. You just reach into the buffet with your chopsticks (I am NOT making this up) and select the materials you want and place them on your tray shoe components. And you can change them over and over and over again. Once you’ve made your selections you proceed to the chef and preview your shoe from every possible angle. And then you can head back to the buffet to refine your choices. I’ve already created 6 shoes and can’t decide which one I want.
Even if you don’t need sneakers today, it’s worth checking out the site. It’s more fun than a video game. Although it did make me just a little bit hungry for some Mongolian Beef!

A pinata can add a festive touch to almost any kind of party. Kids love the traditional ’smash and grab’ candy feeding frenzy, but there are many other ways to enjoy a pinata.
