Trust me on this one. You can’t go wrong with the gift of luggage for graduation. It’s practical, of course, and totally symbolic of the fact that you know that the new graduate is going places – literally!
I recommend going for quality rather than quantity. Good luggage lasts forever and new pieces can be added to the set over time. One or two well chosen pieces of good quality luggage is a great start. A wheeling carry-on sized case is always an excellent choice.
For a larger piece, I’m a big fan of the new boxy wheeling duffel bags. They hold a ton and can be lighter and easier to handle than the traditional suitcase shaped bags of the same size.
Add a personalized touch with luggage tags and monogramming, often available for free from many luggage e-tailers.
